The Pharmaceutical Information Group of EAHIL (the European Association of Health Information Libraries) has organised a session on
occasion of the 8th International Congress on Medical Librarianship (ICML). The session will be held in London on 5th July, 2000.

This session through different approaches is trying to stimulate a debate on three lines :

. quality vs quantity of information (evidence-based medicine)

. technology and globalisation of the supporting information infrastructure

. limits and potential of new super channels.

Pharmaceutical Industry traditionally has been a strong generator and user of information. Thus is facing this complexity: through the analysis of emerging qualitative sources of information and experimenting the world wide web.
