P149 - Gender and the access to the public health services

The last decades in century XX were the privileged stage for the awakening of the gender studies in different scientific areas. The verification of the exclusion, or the silence about the feminine universe is common between each other. Several and complementally perspectives from philosophy to sociology, from anthropology to the law come illuminate the origins of thinking an universal masculine historical subject which is portrayed in the winners' historiography. When the focus changes for a historiography of the revolution that incorporates the political performance of the subjects and daily practices in the world of the knowledge, the losers history, the women, children and crazy people, among other ones reconfigure the narratives and it gives space to the feminine. In the field of the health, the gender studies have also been lighting up and placing in discussion a hegemonic biomedical model. However, clear indications of an inverse movement exist or a differentiated treatment to the relationship between m en and women, about the explanations of health publics policy. Preliminary collected data in the primary care unit indicates an inequality in the use of the health service within a predominance of children and women's attendance. Comparatively, consolidated data produced by SUS confirm, for example, men’s mortality rates in the age group of the 19 to 45 years continue to be higher than women’s. In the men the cardiovascular diseases, malignant neoplasm are predominant and the osteoporosis is growing up for this reason it could be object of health promotion and preventive strategies. The mortality for external causes, such as the homicides, suicides and accidents, transform this mortality rate in more expressive numbers inside a lower age group; many of these conditions have an origin from men’s lifestyle, always in risk and competitive way that the men assumed.
The work report, that interferes in the ambit of the Specialization Course of Scientific and Technological Information in Health (Cict/FIOCR UZ) it seeks, through speech analysis to analyze the proposed politics and implemented in the ambit of SUS, with views to collect evidences that corroborate the epidemic profile produced in primary attention unit services in the family health program with a profile of feminine attendance fundamentally. It is postulated that appropriate strategies of information and communication can serve of support in the search of a larger inclusion of the masculine universe in the politics and, in consequence, in the attention to the health.
