Health libraries  have adopted in the last years several information tools, in order to develop electronic information services. Additionally, Knowledge Management driven services are integrated to improve Information Technologies use in benefit of practical learning communities in health areas.
Open Source code applications and specifically developed solutions, interact to offer an unique integrated environment where people and content feed each other. Health Knowledge Portal is an architectural concept for health libraries’ electronic content services.
The present work states the model our organization have successfully developed Health Knowledge Portals in México, such as ISSSTE´s  “Bibliohemeroteca Virtual”, and Mexico City General Hospital’ “Centro Electrónico de Información e Investigación Documental para la Salud”.
