FIOCRUZ Libraries Network

The Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (FIOCRUZ) is a public institution linked to Ministry of Health and one of the main technical and scientific supports to the Unique Health System  - SUS - activities. The FIOCRUZ institutional mission characteristics in education, research, production and services of information allows a good performance in the field health information. The FIOCRUZ Libraries Network has the objective of energize, increase and develop new products and services of information in health inside and outside the Institution. The following libraries are part of the Network: Biblioteca da Casa de Oswaldo Cruz, Biblioteca do Centro de Pesquisa Aggeu Magalhães, Biblioteca do Centro de Pesquisa Gonçalo Moniz, Biblioteca do Centro de Pesquisa Leônidas e Maria Deane, Biblioteca do Centro de Pesquisa René Rachou, Biblioteca da Escola Nacional de Saúde Pública, Biblioteca Emilia Bustamante da Escola Politécnica de Saúde Joaquim Venâncio, Biblioteca do Instituto Fe rnandes Figueira, Biblioteca do Instituto Nacional de Controle de Qualidade em Saúde e Biblioteca de Manguinhos. It presents a  historical report on the creation of FIOCRUZ Libraries Network. It describes how the Network is organized, in co-ordination and execution levels, its committees, the unities that collaborate with it, as well as the responsibilities of the Network coordinator and each committee. It also presents the Network products and its creation chronology.
