Contributing for the improvement of the quality of information in health:  a comparative analysis of the trustworthiness of unhealthiness data by SIGAB , generated from two processes of codification.

This program aims at a comparative analysis of the trustworthiness of the unhealthiness data, by the SIGAB 1, in the Center of Health School Sinval Faria, taking as reference its register and the classification and codification effected by the involved professionals.  The information about unhealthiness represents a form of knowledge about the sanitary frame, determinative of the process health-illness.  They must guide in the direction to supply the agencies of the sector health of the vision and the instrumental epidemiologist, the definition of the data and the information to be collected and processed, also being able to subsidize the field of the operational research in health.  So that the information on unhealthiness fulfills these purposes, the classification and the codification of the aggravations to the health must be adjusted and trustworthy.  The trus tworthiness of the data can be influenced by a dose of subjectivity.  This influence will be lesser to the measure that the qualification of the professional will be better in the classification and codification.  On the other hand, it will be better if not occur & quot;interpretation & quot; of the diagnosis written for the doctor, what it occurs with frequency when this codification is made by doctors.  The studied variables are:  primary diagnosis, secondary diagnosis, sex, age and specialty.  The comparableness will be evaluated through the Kappa Index. The implantation of the SIGAB 1 had beginning in 1999, after stage of acquisition of computer science equipment for net implantation and magnifying, with the cadastre of the users of the unit of health (CSEGSF with 35.000 handbooks), the approach duration of 1(one) year.  To another stage for implantation of the system, it was the training of the involved staff, using the CID-10.  The SIBAB is a system of use in national level, developed for the DATASUS/MS, has some time in version 2.0 (boleta /optic read).  Later it was worked versions 3,0 (DBF-Dbase) and 4,0 (Access). The current version of the SIGAB is the Local Information Managment (GIL).
