Publication of articles in scientific journals that cause impact in the scientific community in the area of infectious and parasitary disease, in the period from 2000 to 2004

The present research has as its main objective to analyze the manuscripts published in scientific journals which have impact in the scientific community of the Gonçalo Moniz Research Center (CPqGM/FIOCRUZ), during the period from 2000 to 2004. The analysis of the articles published in scientific journals will seek to find out how the construction of knowledge takes place through the scientific activities in the laboratories where the scientists realize their research. The research methodology comprehends the following phases: Part I – Mapping of the researchers in the laboratories, the research lines, identification of the journals where they publish their papers in Curriculum LATTES/CNPq, computing the number of articles published and periodicals indexed on SciELO, Medline and LILACS; Part II – Analysis of citations of the articles to identify which is the most cited author on scientific community of the CPqGM. The main motivation for this study comes from the need to verify the impact of the articles published by the researchers in the laboratories, map the scientific production  of the Institution applied to the health sector.
