The health science libraries form a distinct group among the special libraries, because of the complex fabric of form, formats and delivery mechanism of health science information. Modern information technology and the diverse information needs of the users is transforming the nature of health information and its management. Consequently, the training required to work as a health science librarian must be oriented towards achieving these goals. The paper attempts to discuss the training need of health science librarians to customise themselves to the changing needs in modern Digital era. Also attempts to study the global trends in preparing the health science librarians for the Digital era. A questionnaire has been sent all over the world to know the trends. Based on the analysis and observations of the questionnaire, a model and uniform curriculum for training health science librarians in the digital era all over the world has been suggested.
